GTC SupaCup | ANGRi Racing’s Bishop Set for Kyalami Debut

Tate Bishop will make his Global Touring Cars (GTC) SupaCup debut later this week as he joins South Africa’s premier motorsport series at the celebrated Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit for the opening round of the 2023 championship.

While GTC and GTC SupaCup make up one of several support categories for the Joburg Kyalami 9-Hour event, Bishop will make his championship and circuit debut during the first practice session on Thursday, 23 February. Bishop joined the GTC SupaCup championship after a successful CompCare Polo Cup campaign in 2022. He claimed two wins and four podiums to finish fifth in the championship. The lanky teenager will once again race out of the ANGRi Racing stable. He continues preparing the way for young drivers through the ANGRi Racing Kart Academy development program at the Killarney Kart Circuit, Cape Town.

“Looking forward to the new challenge. Our preparations have gone according to plan, so all we can do now is hope for the best outcome. No doubt it will be another competitive season where I am excited to challenge some of the best race drivers in South Africa. Racing around the Kyalami circuit will also be something to behold, and hopefully, it won’t be the last time,” said Bishop.
