With his sights set on the Lucas Guerrero International Kart Circuit, Spain, Kian Spies is on a remarkable journey to claim the title of the Tillotson T4 Senior World Champion. Alongside a select group of South African drivers, he will also be vying for the prestigious Tillotson T4 Nations Cup.

Racing in the #392 Tillotson T4 Senior chasis, Kian, better known for his impressive performances in Rotax's Senior MAX competitions, has only competed in three T4 Tillotson races around the Formula-K Raceway, Benoni, the home of Tilltson T4 Racing in South Africa. While he has yet to finish off the podium this season, the University of Stellenbosch student claimed the overall victory in the last round, leaving South Africa confident.

Despite his experience at all the major karting circuits in South Africa, Kian Spies is about to face his biggest challenge yet. The Lucas Guerrero International Kart Circuit's long straights, sweeping bends, and tight technical section are set to test both kart and driver, promising a thrilling and entertaining race for all.

“It’s an exciting new challenge for me. Having an extensive two-stroke background, it has taken some adapting. The four-stroke is much less forgiving, as it’s all about keeping up your corner speed and being on the fastest line throughout the lap. While things might happen a little slower than in two-strokes, it’s no less competitive and I’ve enjoyed the short time I have been involved. Travelling to Spain and potentially beating the world’s best and being is an opportunity of a lifetime. I plan to make the most of it. But I can’t do it alone. There are always people in the background supporting me on many different levels and must give them a huge shoutout. Hopefuly many will tune in and watch the action,” said Kian.

The anticipation builds as the event kicks off on Wednesday, September 4. The circuit opens for practice on Thursday, September 5, at 09:00, followed by a second practice. The excitement peaks on Friday, September 6, with the timed Qualifying. The tension continues to mount on Saturday, September 7, with the completion of a Qualifying Heat leading up to Sunday's Super Heat and the highly-anticipated final, where the 2024 winners will be crowned.
