Reigning National and Northern Regions Bambino Champion Adriaan Steyn heads to Vereeniging this weekend looking to claim his first win of the 2024 season as he competes at the sixth round of the Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championships.

While his season did not get off to an ideal start, with two exclusions ruining his chances of a second regional title, the Centurion resident has shown strong form in the last two rounds, claiming five podiums out of six heats, three as runner-up. At the same time, ranked seventh and with no realistic chance of clinching the title, Steyn will be keen on building on his rookie season and chasing his maiden victory.

"We haven't had much luck at Vereeniging this season, but hopefully we can turn that around this weekend. While we've had some strong pace at times, we will only know where we are in relation to others after qualifying. I'm sure the heats will be competitive as usual and I look forward to going toe-to-toe with everyone," said Adriaan.

While many will be out on the circuit on Friday for an unofficial practice, Saturday's action will commence with a warm-up, followed by a qualifying session before three heats decide the day's winner.
