KARTING | Steyn Heads to Memorable Zwartkops for SARMC Finale

Adriaan Steyn, the 2023 National Bambino Champion, will make his way to Zwartkops Kart Raceway tomorrow for what promises to be a thrilling Micro MAX showdown for drivers aged 7-11 years. This weekend ends not only the 2024 South African Rotax MAX Challenge season but also Adriaan's reign as the Bambino champion.

Adriaan, currently fifth in the Micro MAX national standings, is a strong contender for a top-three finish. Despite not winning a race in 2024, he has secured four podium finishes during his national campaign. His most notable performances have been at Zwartkops Kart Raceway, his home circuit. This venue holds special significance for Adriaan, as it was the stage for his 2023 National Bambino Championship victory. In an exhilarating display of skill and determination, the Centurion resident triumphed in the last two Bambino heats to claim his first national title, making the Pretoria circuit much more special.

"It's always fun to race at Zwartkops," said Adriaan. "Not only is it close to home, but it holds special memories for me. The circuit is also very challenging and the racing is always close. While I don't have a chance at winning the championship, I'll be aiming for my first national win in Micro MAX."

Spectators are welcome to attend, and entry is free of charge. The action will, however, be live-streamed on the SA Rotax MAX Challenge YouTube channel below:

Adriaan extends his heartfelt thanks to his sponsors, Q4 Fuel, Greensky and Sparco, including Parolin Racing South Africa and NBR Racing, for their assistance. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in his journey, and he is truly grateful for their contribution.
