POLO CUP | Despite Strong Pace, Robinson Frustrated after Aldo Scribante Scrap

Round 4 of the Astron Energy Polo Cup concluded at the Aldo Scribante Raceway this past Saturday, marking the middle of Tyler Robinson's championship season. While Tyler was awarded seventh overall, she again put in a determined performance to advance into the SuperPole Shootout for a second consecutive time this season.

Friday's practice sessions saw Tyler consistently place in the top seven and gradually improve. When it counted most on Friday afternoon, Tyler proved again why she is one of the best female drivers in the country with a top-six finish and the chance to record her first pole position. Claiming fourth, she secured herself a second-row spot for Saturday's opening race.

At the start, which saw a drag race down to the opening corner, Tyler lost two positions to slot into sixth. While turning out some good lap times, she kept the pressure on, able to hang onto the cars ahead before finishing fifth as the laps ran out.

In the second race, the AF Fans-backed driver started seventh. Caught up in the battle for the off-podium places, Tyler, who was steadily making up ground, was tagged under braking for the final bend, sending her into a spin and off the circuit. Able to rejoin, she slotted into 13th before courageously fighting her way back up to 11th. A post-race penalty to a competitor saw her finish in tenth to end off a frustrating weekend.

"It's rather frustrating to finish like I did. We again put in all the hard work on Friday to make it into SuperPole and give ourselves a chance at a podium. The race, unfortunately, didn't unfold quite like I would have liked, and with the times so close, it isn't easy to pass around here. In Race 2, I caught up to the guys ahead, only to be turned around and sent off track which ruined any chance of a top-five overall finish. The team. however, did a great job. We now focus on the next goal, which is to have a better result in East London," said Tyler.

Round 5 of the Astron Energy Polo Cup heads to the Border Motorsport East London Grand Prix Circuit on 26-27 July.
