FORMULA 1600 | A New Challenge Awaits Rookie Bezuidenhout at Aldo Scribante

The Aldo Scribante Racetrack in Gqeberha is scheduled to host Round 4 of the Investchem Formula 1600 Championship this weekend, marking the halfway mark of South Africa's premier single-seater championship. Fresh from consecutive karting weekends, Rookie Mikel Bezuidenhout will be on track in his Huawei Mobile / MTN Cosmo-Net-backed Mygale.

Bezuidenhout has had a challenging start to his season as the Johannesburg driver finds his way into a championship that sees many cars separated by mere tenths of a second. One of several rookies in the field this season, Bezuidenhout has had two points-scoring weekends, which is no easy feat. He has also shown that the more time he spends in the seat, the more his confidence has grown, which equals better lap times.

The circuit will also be entirely new for Bezuidenhout, who must make the best of two shakedown sessions on Thursday ahead of three official practice sessions on Friday. Qualifying will precede Saturday's two races.

The 16-race program on Saturday will start at 10:10. Spectator tickets can be bought at the Aldo Scribante Racetrack entrance gate for R100 per person. Children under 12 can enter for free. The entire race day program will be broadcast live on the Extreme Festival website - https://extremefestival.co.za/live/.
