KARTING | National Champion Cronje Looking for Another Title in 2023

Noah Cronje in his Kid ROK kart during 2022

Noah Cronje returns to the kart circuit this weekend, looking to capitalise on the experience gained during 2022 that saw him win three Bambino karting titles. Competing in the Kid ROK class, Cronje will join several other drivers that made the step up as they participate in the opening round of the MSA Northern Regions Regional ROK Karting Championship at Formula-K Kart Circuit.

While Cronje had a single competitive outing in the Kid ROK class during the final round of 2022, this weekend will see the start of an entire Kid ROK season at both regional and national levels. The Pretoria youngster will compete in six regional rounds hosted at the Vereeniging and Formula-K Kart Circuits and four national rounds. National championship rounds will see a return to the Celso Scribante Kart Circuit in Gqeberha, while Cape Town’s Killarney Kart Circuit, along with the Formula-K and Vereeniging Kart Circuits in Gauteng, make up a four-round championship. Once again, Cronje enjoys the backing of Easy Life Kitchens in Faerie Glen, as well as the renowned motorsport brand, SPARCO.

“It’s going to be a new challenge, but one I am looking forward to. While none of my 2022 championship titles will help me this season, the experience I gained certainly will. Kid ROK is quite a significant step up from Bambinos, but I will focus on my season, race by race. The intensity, the racing and certainly my will to win remain the same,” said Cronje.

While an official program is yet to be released, the day will typically commence with a warm-up session followed by a qualifying session before three race heats to determine the day’s overall winner.
