KARTING | New Red Star Challenge Awaits TrevPar World-Backed Antunes

Diego Antunes is scheduled to return to competitive karting this weekend as Round 3 of the Northern Regions ROK Kart Championship resumes after a long break. The event will be held at a new short circuit constructed at Red Star Raceway just outside Delmas, Mpumalanga.

Following a solid start to his 2024 regional campaign, Diego achieved his first podium in the opening round but faced tougher challenges in the second round, leaving him in sixth place in the current points standings. This weekend, the challenge of learning a new circuit awaits, and Diego is determined to make up some of the ground he lost to the championship leader.

"It's going to be an exciting event, I think," said Diego. "None of us know the circuit so it's an even playing field for all. My focus will be on getting a good setup for qualifying and then doing my best which hopefully will bring some good results."

The action gets underway on Saturday morning with a warm-up session followed by qualifying before three race heats to determine the overall winner for the day.
