V8 SUPERCARS | Fameliaris Eyes Maiden Killarney Victory

Reigning Mobil 1 V8 Supercars Champion Julian Fameliaris takes a 13-point lead into the championship's away race at Killarney International Raceway this weekend, as the fifth round of the competition resumes as part of the Regional Extreme Festival showdown.

Fameliaris has performed well in 2024, winning five out of eight races in his LubeNet-backed Chevrolet Corvette this season. Setting the fastest lap at each race has solidified his position as the quickest driver of 2024 and earned him an extra four points in the championship. Fameliaris last competed at the Cape circuit in 2022, achieving third place and a DNF.

"It's exciting to be heading back to Killarney. It's been two years since I was last there, and the car had several niggles back then. With those sorted, I hope to get that first win in Cape Town and extend my lead in the championship. We've had a strong season, and I must thank Gavin Wilkens and Do Matteo Racing for their support. My crew has been phenomenal and I'm hoping we can continue this form," said Famelisris.

On Saturday, the action starts with qualifying at 09:05 ahead of two races (12:20 and 16:10). Spectator tickets will be available at the Killarney International Raceway entrance. A live stream will also be available on the Extreme Festival website at the link below:
